How to deal with the lack of pressure in the Press Brake

Oct 15, 2024

The Press Brake is the most popular machine in the sheet metal industry. During long-term use, the machine may fail to pressurize. In this article, we will provide the causes and solutions for this type of problem.

1. Hydraulic system problems

(1) Insufficient anti-wear hydraulic oil or poor oil quality.

The hydraulic system requires sufficient hydraulic oil to work properly. If the hydraulic oil is too little or the oil quality is poor, it will affect the normal operation of the system, resulting in the Press Brake not being pressurized. It is necessary to check the oil level and oil quality of the hydraulic oil in time, and add or replace the hydraulic oil in time.

(2) The oil pump fails.

The oil pump is the core component of the hydraulic system. If the oil pump fails, it will affect the normal operation of the system, resulting in the bending machine not being pressurized. The hydraulic pump needs to be inspected, repaired or replaced.

(3) The valve group fails.

The function of the valve group is to control the flow, pressure and movement of the machine in the hydraulic system. If the valve group fails, it will affect the normal operation of the system, resulting in the bending machine not being pressurized. The hydraulic valve needs to be inspected, repaired or replaced.

2. Transmission system failure

(1) Mechanical component failure.

The transmission system of the Press Brake is composed of multiple mechanical parts. If any of the mechanical parts fails, it will affect the normal operation of the system, resulting in the bending machine not being pressurized. The faulty mechanical parts need to be inspected, repaired or replaced.

(2) Sensor failure.

The sensor of the Press Brake is the input and output device of the control system. If the sensor fails, the control system will not work properly, resulting in the Press Brake not being pressurized. The faulty sensor needs to be inspected, repaired or replaced.

3. Cylinder seal leakage problem

When the cylinder seal is aged and worn, the cylinder will leak, causing the machine to be unable to pressurize. The cylinder seal needs to be inspected or replaced.

4. Equipment control system failure.

If the control system of the Press Brake fails, the equipment will not work properly, resulting in the bending machine not being pressurized. The equipment control system needs to be inspected and repaired.

5. Operator misoperation.

If the operator misoperates, the Press Brake will not be pressurized. The operator training and management need to be strengthened to avoid misoperation.

6. Filter blockage.

When the filter at the oil inlet in the oil tank is clogged, the oil pump will fail and the machine will not be able to pressurize. The filter needs to be cleaned regularly.

In short, the failure of the Press Brake to pressurize may be caused by many reasons, which need to be investigated and solved from multiple aspects such as hydraulic system problems, transmission system failures and other possible reasons. Only by ensuring the normal operation of the equipment can the processing tasks be better completed and production efficiency improved.
