Using R-type molds to solve bending problems and win praise from customers

Customer Xiao Li came to us and said that he had recently received an order for a custom curved casing, and the customer had extremely high requirements for surface finish and curvature accuracy. At first, he tried to use the traditional V-type mold for bending, but after several attempts, the stainless steel plate always had obvious wrinkles at the bend, which seriously affected the quality of the finished product. Xiao Li repeatedly adjusted the pressure, speed and mold gap, but the problem still could not be solved.

Just when he was at a loss, we suggested that he try the R-type mold (curved lower mold). With a try-it mentality, Xiao Li readjusted the parameters of the bending machine and stepped on the pedal. Surprisingly, under the action of the R-type mold, the steel plate was smoothly bent into a perfect arc, with a smooth and flat surface without a trace of indentation or wrinkles. Xiao Li was surprised and hurriedly asked the reason.

We explained: "The arc groove design of the R-type mold allows the material to flow evenly during the bending process, reducing local stress concentration, which is particularly suitable for soft materials such as stainless steel and aluminum plates. In addition, the arc contact surface is larger, which disperses the bending pressure, thereby avoiding indentations and ensuring the accuracy and aesthetics of the finished product."

Xiao Li immediately switched to the R-type mold and put it into production. After a week of careful processing, he successfully completed the customized arc case. The finished product has a precise arc and a smooth surface, which fully meets the customer's requirements. After acceptance, the customer praised it and was very satisfied with the product quality.
